for example, today we got to go to savannah with clint to pick up a rehabbed bird for the aquarium! a rehabber in tn sent it down with uncle calvin (who was attending a seminar in savannah). it was the cutest american kestrel (that we called kenny - who knows what the aquarium will name him)! his feet were injured really bad - i think clint said they think it was from a hot wire - so he is missing all but 1 or 2 talons (and his tail feathers for now) and can't be released since he wouldn't be able to catch food very well. anyways, here's little kenny taking a break from his traveling box on the way home.

oh my gosh! my unreasonable fear of birds make me freak out just looking at these pictures!
I think the educators are wanting to name him Phoenix (you know, cause he went up in flames and all). I am insanely jealous that they have a super cool kestrel to work with. He is so cute!
