saving the fishes

clint went collecting/seining last week & we tagged along. kennedy loved catching all the baby crabs - that don't bite. then when they pulled the net up on the beach, kennedy was a huge help & loved "saving all the fishes." anything that was too small or not a species they were looking for, were thrown back in the water. kennedy would search the ground for any stragglers that were overlooked and would toss them back. it was funny, a couple of times i caught her just holding the fish, examining it really closely as it was "making a funny face." i explained to her that that was the fish gasping for water - that's what they need to breath! sorry i don't have any pictures of this or any of the nets up close...it was either save the fish or take pictures.
