tulum, mexico

my brother, tom, was working in mexico for 6 months, so i decided that this was meant to be, i HAD to go visit him!  i planned a sisters trip, but not everyone could go (one due to school & the other had just had a baby).  but, i had FINALLY weaned avery (she was SOOOO hard to wean) & i realized, that for the past 6 years i've been pregnant or breast feeding, and haven't gone on any relaxing vacations (sorry, clint, vacations are hardly relaxing with your planned activities)!  so ruth, rachel & i set out to have that spa vacation we've always dreamed of (oh, and tom too).  sweet cousin shaina was able to come last minute, so we were able to get "zanzibar" - complete with it's own private pool!  so we flew into cancun, mexico and then drove about 2 hrs south to tulum.  it's an amazingly gorgeous little town, where everything is wind or solar powered.  it was quiet, tropical, safe - man, it was SO awesome!!  there was even a tropical storm south of us (which we found out after a couple of days) and that was why the waves were so big & it rained every afternoon!  but it was so wonderful, we couldn't imagine that things were usually even better??  anyways, it was an aMAzing time.  thank you clint (and his mom) for taking care of the kids & letting me run off for a week to have some [much needed] r&r!!
